1980 – 1989

Production History

In the late 1980s when the Library moved out of the front section of the Orewa Public Hall the society was able to move its chattels out of the joinery to this space. Silver Jubilee year, 1981, saw successful shows but still no theatre in sight. More time effort and money was spent on the possibility of developing the present hall site, but because of the need for community use, a true theatre would still not have eventuated. Yet another well researched and documented proposal for a theatre complex surfaced in 1982, this time for the site in Moana Avenue, and once again, when all aspects were considered, the project was dropped.
